Kitchen Transformation III

On to the bottom cabinets. I've stripped the laminate off and am working on putting an oil-based primer down. I will paint the insides the same green and the outer trip white. With this done we will be ready for the new doors which I'm hoping to have someone else get for us and put on although I will probably paint them.

More pictures of potential new home

Patio situated in back of the house on the side. The fence shows how close the house is to the back of the property.
Second floor looking down a few stairs into the master suite. The master suite is above the garage which is a bit lower than the rest of the house.
Stairs leading up to a 10 by 17 or so landing area which can be a sitting or office area.
Kitchen with top cabinets missing. The picture is taken from a breakfast area that could probably seat the whole family. There are a set of sliding doors to a patio facing the west.
From the front. The front door is to the right under the porch area. there is a door into the garage on the left side of the garage. The driveway is all very nice cement and the walkway is in perfect shape. There is virtually no landscaping though. The grass is in poor shape and there are almost no shrubs or other plants other than several trees. Lots of driveway space to turn around and there is a pull off area half way down the driveway for extra parking.

Looking at another house

Dawn has spied a house that she saw for sale last year. It just came onto the market again a few days ago. Its a house that was foreclosed on when the former owners were unable to sell at a price above what they owed. The price has been dropped a whole 60K and is set 88K below what the house sold for in 2002. The listing says it was built in 1888 but it was rebuilt from the foundation up in 2002 and so is essentially new except for the basement. The lot is a strange shape with is .5 acres but the house is set back all the way in the back with the back of the house only a foot or so from the property line. The house is actually only a few blocks from where we live right now. There have already been several offers on the house and so at this price there is some real competition but we are really thinking of making a bit early next week.

Men's Camp-out on Friday Night

On Friday night some fathers and sons from the church got together for a camp-out on the church grounds. A roaring fire, hot dogs, marshmallows, some tunes by Adam and a campfire song by Jim Kobb made for a great evening. After sleeping in tents and under the stars we met in the morning for breakfast and Bible study. A great time was had by all!
Jim Kobb gets the max out of a four foot wide fire pit. (click for larger view)

Riding Bikes

I got the kids a new scooter to share. It didn't take long for them to figure it out. It is pretty useful in our limited space. Sometimes we go across the street to the Catholic church parking lot and ride.
Its' good to know that Mary is watching over the kids:=)
Graham is outgrowing his tricycle. We are hoping to get Andrew a new bicycle soon and put training wheels on Andrew's old bike.

Great Lakes Science Museum

We went to the Great Lakes Science Museum on Monday June 4th with Grandma and Grandpa Osinga
